About Celestia (TIA)

TIA is the coin behind Celestia, a blockchain built to publish and order data for other chains rather than run their applications. Rollups post their transaction data to Celestia as blobs and pay for that space in TIA, while holders stake TIA with validators to secure the network and vote on governance. People swap TIA to fund blob fees for a rollup, to move staking rewards into another coin, or to get TIA without opening an exchange account.

The selector carries a single TIA listing: native TIA on the Celestia mainnet, with no wrapped or bridged version. Deposits and payouts are native TIA transfers, and a receiving address starts with celestia1. TIA is handled as a memo coin, so the form shows a memo field beside the address. Fill it in when the payout goes to an exchange account that gave you a memo, and leave it empty for a personal wallet such as Keplr or Leap.

A TIA exchange here runs at a floating rate. Type an amount and the widget quotes an estimate after taking off the margin and the fee for broadcasting your payout. A price move before your deposit confirms can shift the final figure slightly. Celestia finalizes blocks through CometBFT proof of stake, so the TIA leg tends to settle quickly and the other coin's chain often sets the pace. The order page shows each stage and the transaction ID.

TIA networks on xswap.to

Each network is a separate option in the coin selector. Send and receive only on the network you pick, and use a memo or tag where one is required.

Before you send

  • Confirm the TIA receiving address begins with celestia1, not another Cosmos prefix such as cosmos1 or osmo1.
  • Enter the memo your exchange account requires when the TIA payout goes to a shared exchange deposit address.
  • Leave enough TIA in your wallet to pay the Celestia transaction fee on top of the amount you deposit.
  • Undelegate ahead of time, because staked TIA only becomes transferable after the unbonding period ends.

TIA Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a memo to receive TIA in my own wallet?

Usually not. A personal Celestia wallet such as Keplr or Leap credits the address directly, so the memo field can stay empty. A memo matters when the payout goes to an exchange that uses one shared deposit address and tells customers apart by memo; leaving it out there can delay or lose the funds.

What does a Celestia address look like?

A Celestia address starts with celestia1 followed by a string of lowercase letters and numbers. It uses the same bech32 format as other Cosmos SDK chains, but the prefix differs, so an osmo1 or cosmos1 address is not a valid TIA receiving address. Copy it from the Celestia account in your wallet.

Can I deposit TIA that I hold on Osmosis or another Cosmos chain?

Not as it is. The deposit address accepts native TIA on the Celestia mainnet only, and TIA held on Osmosis or another Cosmos chain is an IBC copy living on that chain. Move it back to a celestia1 address first, then send it to the order with a regular Celestia transfer.

Can I swap TIA I have staked with a validator?

Not directly. Delegated TIA stays bonded to the validator until you undelegate it and the unbonding period ends, and only then can it be sent. Staking rewards you have already claimed are liquid and can go into a swap right away.

Why did I get slightly less than the TIA estimate?

Because the rate floats, the estimate was a snapshot of the market when you created the order, not a promise. If the price moves while your deposit is confirming, the payout follows it. The fee for sending your payout was already inside the number the widget showed.

Who do I contact if my TIA swap gets stuck?

Send the transaction ID shown on your order page to @xswap_to, the support account on Telegram. Before that, look up your deposit on a Celestia block explorer to confirm it reached the right address. Support reviews each problem with that ID, since blockchain transfers cannot be reversed.
