What you send is Cardano (ADA) on Cardano; what you get is Stellar lumens (XLM), the native coin of the Stellar network, delivered to a G-address you control, with no registration. A typical reason is setting up on Stellar: every Stellar account must hold a minimum XLM balance, and each trustline to an asset such as USDC on Stellar raises that reserve, so new users need lumens before they can do much else.
Stellar reaches agreement through the Stellar Consensus Protocol, and its ledgers close roughly every five seconds. Cardano is an unrelated proof-of-stake chain, so the ADA to XLM exchange is a cross-chain swap. Stellar public keys are 56 characters long and start with G. You need one when the receiving address belongs to an exchange or custodial service, which uses the memo to credit your account. Copy it exactly from that service's XLM deposit page. If you are receiving into your own Stellar wallet, leave the memo field empty.
The XLM still arrives at the exchange, but it cannot match the deposit to your account automatically. You then have to contact that exchange's support with the transaction ID to claim it, which can take time. Transfers cannot be reversed, so check the memo before you create the order.
It can, as long as the payout covers Stellar's minimum balance, because an account only exists on the ledger once it holds at least 1 XLM. That amount stays reserved while the account is open. When paying a new address, check that your amount leaves well over 1 XLM after fees.

It works as long as the exchange withdraws ADA on the Cardano network directly to the deposit address. Some exchanges also offer ADA on BNB Smart Chain, which this order will not accept. Allow for the exchange's withdrawal fee so the amount that arrives still meets the minimum shown in the widget.
