On this page your USD Coin (USDC) leaves as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and comes back as Stellar (XLM), the native coin of the Stellar network, at your own Stellar address. No signup or account is involved. Someone might swap USDC to XLM to move value onto Stellar for low-cost cross-border payments, or to fund a Stellar wallet that needs XLM for fees and for its minimum balance.
Ethereum-based USDC is Circle's dollar-pegged stablecoin, so on the default setting you pay gas in ETH to send it. Stellar runs the Stellar Consensus Protocol and closes a new ledger every few seconds. The two chains are unrelated, which makes this a cross-chain swap. Stellar public addresses start with G, and when you receive at an exchange you must also enter the memo it gave you, or the deposit may not be credited.
Expect a floating-rate estimate of the XLM payout, with the margin and the Stellar network fee already taken out. Since XLM moves against the dollar, the final amount can differ slightly if the market shifts before your USDC confirms on Ethereum. That Ethereum confirmation is usually the slower part. It depends on who holds the address: a shared account such as an exchange uses the memo to credit you, while a personal Stellar wallet with its own G address needs none. If your exchange shows a memo, enter it exactly, since a missing memo can leave the XLM uncredited.
A Stellar public address is 56 characters long and starts with the letter G. It is different from an Ethereum 0x address, so pasting your USDC wallet address into the XLM field will not work. Copy it from your Stellar wallet's receive screen.
Stellar requires every account to hold a small XLM reserve before it exists on the ledger. The first payment to a fresh address creates the account, and it has to cover that reserve. A payout below the reserve cannot activate the address, so a tiny first swap to a new wallet is a bad idea.
You can, if you pick that USDC version in the selector before creating the order. The deposit address then belongs to that network, and Solana USDC needs SOL for fees while Base USDC needs ETH on Base. Never send USDC on one network to an address made for another.
Most of the time goes into confirming your ERC-20 deposit on Ethereum, where blocks come every 12 seconds. On the Stellar side a new ledger closes every few seconds, so the XLM payout is quick once it is sent. Network congestion or a rare compliance review can slow things down.
