Gram is the new name for Toncoin, adopted on June 15, 2026 after a community vote. The network is still The Open Network, and balances and addresses did not change. This exchange lists the coin under the TON ticker as Gram (ex Ton/TonCoin), so the TON you receive is the same coin.
You need one when the payout address belongs to an exchange or custodial service that identifies customers by memo. In that case, copy their memo or comment into the memo field in the widget. A personal TON wallet such as Tonkeeper does not need a memo, so you can leave the field empty.
Copy the address exactly as your wallet displays it, whichever prefix it has. Most wallets now show the UQ form, which is the non-bounceable format recommended for receiving to a personal wallet. EQ is the bounceable form of the same account, often used by services and contracts.
