Use a Bitcoin Cash address instead. A legacy Bitcoin address starting with 1 may pass the format check, but the BCH lands on the Bitcoin Cash chain, where a BTC-only wallet will not show it. Generate a receive address in a wallet that supports Bitcoin Cash and paste that one.
