Provide Destination

Paste your ADA wallet address and check it twice, because blockchain transfers cannot be reversed. If the coin needs a memo or destination tag, a field for it appears. xswap.to never asks for your private keys.

Send & Automate

Confirm the order and send your BTC to the one-time deposit address on the Bitcoin network. Once the deposit confirms, the swap runs automatically and the ADA is sent to your wallet. The order page shows every stage.

Why Swap and Bridge BTC to ADA Here?

Swapping Bitcoin (BTC) for Cardano (ADA) here takes one transfer from your wallet: no exchange account, no balance to deposit and no withdrawal queue. You choose the receiving address, and the ADA goes there once the swap completes.

Rates are floating, so the amount shown is an estimate that can shift slightly while your Bitcoin deposit confirms on Bitcoin. The payout is sent on Cardano, so check that your Cardano address belongs to that network before you confirm.

About Swapping Bitcoin to Cardano

Bitcoin (BTC) to Cardano (ADA) is a trade from a proof-of-work coin into a proof-of-stake one. You send native BTC on the Bitcoin network to a one-time deposit address, and ADA arrives on Cardano mainnet at the addr1 address you enter, with no account involved. A typical reason is delegation: ADA held in your own Cardano wallet can be delegated to a stake pool from that wallet, something BTC cannot do on its own chain.

Bitcoin targets one block about every 10 minutes and uses addresses starting with 1, 3 or bc1. Cardano runs the Ouroboros proof-of-stake protocol, and its Shelley-era addresses begin with addr1. The chains share nothing, so this is a cross-chain swap settled by receiving one coin and paying out the other. ADA is native on Cardano, which means no token contract, no memo and no separate gas coin to hold. The coin selector also lists a BEP-20 ADA on BNB Smart Chain, and the two are not interchangeable.

To convert BTC to ADA, type the amount and read the floating-rate estimate before sending. The Cardano fee for your payout is already deducted there, and you pay the Bitcoin miner fee from your wallet. A crowded Bitcoin mempool can slow the deposit, so a higher fee rate helps it confirm sooner. If BTC moves before confirmation, the ADA you get may differ slightly from the estimate. The order page tracks each stage, and once ADA is sent its payout hash opens in a block explorer.

Before you send

  • Paste a Cardano address that starts with addr1, copied from a wallet such as Yoroi, Eternl or Daedalus.
  • Keep the selector on native Cardano ADA unless you want the BEP-20 version on BNB Smart Chain with a 0x address.
  • Pay a Bitcoin fee rate that matches current mempool traffic so the deposit does not sit unconfirmed.
  • Send BTC only on the Bitcoin network itself, never as wrapped BTC on Ethereum or another chain.

BTC to ADA Frequently Asked Questions

Which address format does a Cardano payout need?

A Cardano mainnet address, which normally starts with addr1. Copy it from the receive screen of your Cardano wallet rather than typing it. An address starting with 0x belongs to the BEP-20 ADA option on BNB Smart Chain, which is a different listing.

Can I stake the ADA I get from this swap?

xswap.to has no staking, but ADA in your own Cardano wallet can be delegated to a stake pool from that wallet. Cardano delegation does not lock the coins, so they stay spendable. Follow your wallet's own steps for choosing a pool.

Do I need a memo or spare ADA to receive the payout?

No memo is needed for ADA, and you do not need to hold any ADA beforehand. The estimate already has the Cardano payout fee taken out. When you later send ADA, your wallet charges a small fee in ADA.

Why is my BTC deposit taking a while to confirm?

Bitcoin confirms deposits block by block, and blocks arrive about every 10 minutes on average, sometimes slower. A low fee rate during a busy period can leave the transaction waiting in the mempool. You can follow it on any Bitcoin block explorer with the transaction hash from your wallet.

Does the ADA I receive match the estimate?

Close to it, but not always to the decimal. The rate is floating, so if BTC or ADA moves between creating the order and the deposit confirming, the payout adjusts. The estimate already reflects the exchange margin and the Cardano payout fee.

What protects me during a BTC to ADA swap?

Each order gets its own one-time deposit address, the ADA goes straight to the address you typed, and xswap.to never asks for keys or a seed phrase. Nothing can fix a wrong address after the fact, so compare its first and last characters before you confirm. Bitcoin transfers cannot be reversed.
